There’s a kind of healing that therapy can’t reach, that words can’t describe, that only creation can express: The moment a person who once lost everything picks up an instrument or a DAW again and makes something new… A first song isn't supposed to be polished. It’s supposed to show: tone, direction, feeling, an ear, curiosity, spark, arrival. It’s the seed of a new musical chapter that’s going to grow and evolve with every new riff, every new patch, every vocal chop, every handpan and instrument layers I eventually record. The important part is: it's started. This song represents: freedom, rebirth, creation, identity, becoming, possibility, courage, life. It's the first song created by the “new Mark.” The man who: survived, awakened, recovered, rebuilt, connected, softened, studied, loved, reflected, cared for people at Ability Beyond, reconnected with family, found Ram Dass, built a home temple, created a website filled with truth, lives with integrity, and finally, found his way back to sound. It is not the same person who uploaded to YouTube years ago. This is a different life. A different consciousness. A different heart. This is the first musical creation of the man I've become — not the man I was surviving as... the universe feels that, my nervous system feels that, my soul feels that, my ancestors feel that, my future self feels that, my children, someday, will feel that.
